Make it Work!

It has more than a year now since I was retrenched, and it has been a rollercoaster. There have been various ups that I most certainly enjoyed and appreciated and there have been several downs that I have learned and grew stronger from. Nonetheless, I have decided no matter what position I find myself in, that I will make it work.

I lost my job in November 2018 due to a “restructure” in the business. Then I had mixed feelings. I was concerned but optimistic at the same time. I was left without employment and my wife was roughly 5 months pregnant. It was the dawn of a new season in our lives and we were excited about it.

During this time, I dove into re-evaluating the Non-Profit Organisation, Ebukhosini Forty Three Forty, that I founded as my “full-time job” whilst trying to earn an income to keep the wheels turning by doing freelance marketing, freelance videography, an assisting my father when he needs me in his plumbing business.

As you can imagine, it is not easy. However, you do what you can to make it work. All the while knowing what my ultimate goal is. Never losing sight of the purpose of my life.

I am familiar with struggle and plenty. I am grateful for parents who thought me to stay humble and never give up in both instances. Plus, I am ever so grateful for a God who is always faithful. I have an amazing baby girl who reminds me every day of the wonderful God that I serve. Amid the storm He can provide you with joys and blessings.

Armed with my faith, life lessons, and my gaols, I continue to persevere. I am not at the end of this journey. I continue to try and make it work. I am fully aware that the seas of life in this season may get choppier, but now I am more aware and even more focused.

To anyone out there that is trying to achieve their God given purpose and is facing challenges and roadblocks, don’t give up. You will learn many lessons, you will lose many “friends”, you realise several things about yourself that you did not previously know. This is the process of becoming the person you need to be to achieve your purpose.

What are some of the things that you are trying to achieve and some of the struggles you are experiencing in achieving them? Feel free to share them below.
