Mountview Secondary School
Mountview Secondary School opened in 1976. The school was built in response to the need for a further Secondary school in Verulam. The present enrolment is 1 200 with 43 educators.
A comprehensive and varied curriculum is offered, catering for learners with different abilities and skills. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are also offered including various codes of sport. Learners attending the school come from different socio-economic backgrounds and geographical locations. Major infrastructure developments undertaken by the school include a large sports ground and a swimming pool. Funds for these developments were raised primarily through the initiative of educators and learners and through support of the local community. The school enjoys active participation from the different stakeholder groups.

Mountview Secondary School is an institution with a proud history of academic and co-curricular excellence. We have exceptional track record and tradition of consistently producing learners who featured in the top ten. In 2003, 2006, 2008 and 2012 learners featured in the top ten in KZN, 1st and 2nd in South Africa (2012 – quintile 4 schools), a testament to our continuing pursuit of excellence. In the sporting field learners have achieved national colors in certain codes of sports.
